Dhawan Shares his Thoughts on Completing 10 Years in the Indian National Cricket Team

Shikhar Dhawan who smashed a century for Delhi Capitals in their last IPL 2020 match, has completed 10 years of playing for the Indian national cricket team. Dhawan ahead of the next match of Delhi Capitals shared his thoughts on the same on his Twitter account.

Gabbar completes 10 years

Shikhar Dhawan, famously called “Gabbar” has been an important member of the Indian national cricket team over last few years. Especially when it comes to limited-overs cricket, excluding Dhawan is never an option. In fact, in the last World Cup in the United Kingdom, once Dhawan left the tournament due to injury, the Indian national cricket team seemed to have lost all its balance and never recovered.

Shikhar Dhawan played his first One Day International for the Indian national cricket team on October 20, 2010, against Australia. Today, he has completed ten years of playing for the Indian national cricket team. So far, he has made 136 appearances for the Indian national cricket team in ODI and scored 5688 runs with a high score of 143 runs. He played his first T20I in 201 against West Indies. When it comes to the longest format of the game, Dhawan has so far played 34 Tests to accumulate 2315 runs.

Shikhar Dhawa took to his Twitter account to share his joy of being able to represent Indian cricket for the last ten years. He wrote, “10 years with Team India, 10 years playing for my country – there has been no greater honour. Representing my nation has given me memories for a lifetime, that I am always grateful for.”

Dhawan is currently playing IPL 13 for Delhi Capitals in the UAE playing and his side is leading the IPL 2020 standings at present. Shikhar Dhawan went on to register his maiden IPL century in DC’s last match against Chennai Super Kings where he led the team to a five-wicket win. Today Delhi Capitals will be playing Kings XI Punjab in the 38th match of the Indian Premier League at Dubai International Stadium in Dubai. Let’s not forget that Shikhar Dhawan is just 63 runs short off completing 5000 IPL runs.
