Cricket Australia announce tour of South Africa ahead of the ODI World Cup

In exciting news for cricket fans, Australia is all set to embark on a tour of South Africa to play a limited-over series, commencing on August 30 in the vibrant city of Durban. With the dates and venues of all the matches now confirmed by Cricket South Africa (CSA), cricket enthusiasts can look forward to witnessing some thrilling on-field action ahead of the much-awaited ODI World Cup 2023, scheduled to take place in India in October-November.

The tour itinerary includes three T20Is and five One-Day Internationals, making it a comprehensive series that promises to be packed with excitement and entertainment. The venues announced

The tour kicks off with three adrenaline-pumping T20 matches at the picturesque Kingsmead stadium, situated in the vibrant coastal city of Durban, between August 30 and September 3. Following this, the tour moves to the Highveld region for the five-match ODI series, scheduled from September 7-17. 

The first two games are set to take place in the charming city of Bloemfontein, followed by matches in Potchefstroom, Pretoria, and Johannesburg. As the series heats up, cricket aficionados are in for a thrilling experience as the two teams battle it out in some of South Africa’s most iconic cricketing destinations.

As for Australia, the team is yet to reveal the name of their new T20I skipper, as Aaron Finch bid adieu to his international cricket career. In terms of ODI cricket, the upcoming bilateral series holds crucial significance for both teams, as they aim to fine-tune their playing XI and the overall squad ahead of the World Cup, scheduled to be hosted in India.
