The match was held at the Sir Vivian Richards Stadium, North Sound, Antigua, as the USA leg of the competition came to an end. Losing team USA had won the toss and opted to bowl first. South Africa ended up scoring 194/4 in the first innings while USA, an associate team fought well until the very last over and got restricted to 176/6, losing the match by 18 runs

“could have been more…” – Aaron Jones

USA captain Aaron Jones seemed to be in low spirits after his side lost the match against South Africa despite being close to victory. Jones did say that he wasn’t particularly disappointed, and is focusing on discipline.

“I don’t wanna say disappointed. I thought we could have been more disciplined with the ball. But it goes this way sometimes. I think we need to be more disciplined.” Aaron said.

We will try and go back to the board. And come back stronger. Happy to be going home. I know the conditions well.” He added.

Andries Gous from his team stunned everyone with his 80* score off just 47 balls and a strike rate of 170.21 against the South African bowlers.
