Chennai’s CM M K Stalin lauds heavy praises on Dhoni, calls him the adopted son of Chennai

Tamil Nadu Chief Minister M K Stalin has launched the Tamil Nadu Championship Foundation, an initiative by the sports department aimed at promoting sports in the state. The foundation is a public-private partnership venture, with a total contribution of Rs 23.50 crore, including the government’s share, received within five days of the pre-launch on May 3. The foundation was launched by Chennai Super Kings skipper MS Dhoni, who also unveiled the logo and portal of the initiative. 

Stalin acknowledges Dhoni’s impact on the State

The Chief Minister acknowledged Dhoni’s humble beginnings and his rise to become a national icon, saying that he was an inspiration to millions of youth. Stalin emphasized that Dhoni was the ambassador of the unique initiative and that the government aimed to create more sports stars like him from Tamil Nadu. The Chief Minister’s endorsement of Dhoni is expected to inspire many young athletes in the state.

During the launch event, Chief Minister M K Stalin also praised MS Dhoni’s batting, calling him the adopted son of Chennai. Stalin expressed his admiration for Dhoni’s cricketing prowess and revealed that he had watched him play at the Chepauk Stadium twice recently. 

“Like everyone in Tamil Nadu, I am also a very big fan of M S Dhoni. Recently, I went to Chepauk twice to watch Dhoni’s batting. I hope our adopted son of Tamil Nadu will continue to play for CSK.”, the Chief Minister added during the launch event.
