Caution for Mumbai Indians comes from RCB Mainstay

AB de Villiers, Royal Challengers Bangalore mainstay praised the strength of Mumbai Indians outfit. Ahead of the first match against Mumbai Indians, he, however opined that it would not be easy for Mumbai to defend the revamped Bangalore side.

Speaking to RCB’s YouTube channel, AB de Villiers said that the Bangalore is excited to take on to Mumbai Indians in the first match of IPL 2021. He praised the defending champions, however, mentioned that it would not be easy for Rohit Sharma’s team to beat them. “It’s the first game of the IPL, and we all are very excited. Mumbai Indians are a fantastic team, who have won the trophy numerous times. We know what we will be up against, and I am very excited to see what we are made of.”

He continued, “We have got a few new faces this year. Guys like Dan Christian, Glenn Maxwell, Kane Richardson and others have come to this setup. They are quite a few experienced heads. I know it’s a tough game first up, but I am looking forward to it. It’s going to be tough for Mumbai as well.”

ABD to Lead The RCB Middle Order

Chennai will be hosting the first match of this season on Friday. The head-to-head encounters are on the side of Mumbai Indians, but the core team of Royal Challengers Bangalore can defeat anyone on their day. AB de Villiers will continue to hold onto the middle order for RCB. He ended last season with 454 runs at an average of 45.4 with a strike rate of 158.74. He is the second in the list of highest six-hitters as well.

As ABD mentioned, this year would be new for the Bangalore team with a new look. Virat Kohli will be opening the innings with Devdutt Padikkal. The middle order will see ABD along with Glenn Maxwell with the youngsters at the end.
