But the biggest trauma was when MS got out- Pandya talks about World Cup exit

It’s been quite long that Mahendra Singh Dhoni is out of cricket. But he keeps making headlines. Now the star all-rounder of Indian cricket Hardik Pandya revealed important advice he received from the legend. Pandya also talked about the trauma the whole team went through after losing the World Cup semi-final.

Pandya on Dhoni’s advice

In an interaction, Panyda said how Dhoni once explained to him the secret of success. Dhoni had said that to get rid of extra pressure one should stop looking at own score during an ongoing match. He also had advised to put the team in front and that would help him feel better.

“MS told me once, that if you want to get rid off the pressure of your own pressure then stop looking at your score on the scoreboard. Put the team in front and you will never feel the pressure. To be honest, since then I have never felt that kind of pressure that I used to feel earlier.”

On World Cup exit

Pandya also explained how the team dealt with the trauma of losing the World Cup semi-final. He said, “For a couple of days in the morning when we used to get we felt like what just happened. I still remember after the game someone messaged on a group saying it does not feel right. We all were feeling the same. This is not true.”

Personally, for Pandya it was Dhoni’s run-out that shook the dreams for him. “For us to express the fact was a lot but that’s a sport. The most difficult part was you have to sleep that night. But the biggest trauma was when MS got out.” He added that he had full confidence on Dhoni and it took time to fathom what happened. “I knew Jimmy Neesham was going to bowl. And MS has 14 years of experience and that guy is chilled out. Mahi Bhai does not get much into the situations. I kind of knew that MS will find a way to score 2 sixes. When that run-out happened we were still feeling MS made it in. You don’t generally see a run-out with MS. And then we saw on the screen and MS walking.”
