Brad Hogg Still Expects Dhoni To Have One More Burst

Brad Hogg still believes that MS Dhoni has one more burst left in his career before he bids adieu to international cricket. On Twitter, while responding to a user, Hogg shared his thoughts about Dhoni.

Former Australia spinner Brad Hogg was asked by a Twitter user if he feels that the former India captain Mahendra Singh Dhoni should retire in case there is no IPL held this year due to coronavirus outbreak. Hogg said that he thinks Dhoni will still take time before announcing retirement. According to the Hogg, Dhoni would still have a blast before retiring from international cricket. He was asked, “What u think, If IPL 2020 cancelled, Dhoni should retire from International cricket?” To this Hogg said, “Speculation, I don’t think he will announce it, he seems pretty calm about things & moves onto the next thing he needs to accomplish. It’s been an entertaining career, let’s enjoy what he has done! I feel he may have one more burst in the next 2 years for India.”

Dhoni’s cricket future

The 38-year-old cricketer played his last international cricket match in the semi-final against New Zealand in the World Cup 2019. India did not just lose the match, Dhoni’s batting approach was highly criticized. Post that Dhoni did not feature in any competitive cricket. Rather his retirement speculation news time to time made it to the headlines. Dhoni kept extending his sabbatical leaves and made himself unavailable for the entire 2019 for any series at home and abroad.

India’s head coach Ravi Shastri in the month of November said that MS Dhoni could make an international comeback if he impressed in the IPL. Chennai Super Kings meanwhile announced Dhoni as the captain of the team for this edition of IPL as well. So the stage was set for Dhoni’s comeback to cricket. But with the current situation, it looks uncertain yet again.
