All you need to know about the Asia Cup; Groups, Squads, Venues, Schedule, Where to Watch

Get ready for the 16th edition of the Asia Cup, set to kick off with Pakistan facing off against Nepal in the opening match on Wednesday, August 30, at the Multan Cricket Stadium. This edition of the continental tournament will be contested in the 50-over format, taking into consideration the upcoming ODI World Cup.

Six competitive teams – India, Pakistan, Sri Lanka, Afghanistan, Nepal, and Bangladesh – will vie for the prestigious title, divided into two groups. Group A comprises India, Pakistan, and Nepal, while Group B includes defending champions Sri Lanka, Afghanistan, and Bangladesh.

The much-anticipated clash between arch-rivals Pakistan and India is scheduled for September 2 at the Pallekele International Cricket Stadium in Kandy, Sri Lanka. After the league phase, the top two teams from each group will progress to the ‘Super Four’ stage.

Pakistan will serve as hosts for four matches in the Asia Cup 2023, while Sri Lanka will take over hosting duties for the remaining nine matches. The grand finale of the tournament will unfold at Colombo’s R Premadasa Stadium on September 17, determining the continental champion.
