Aakash Chopra thinks Mumbai may not field Arjun Tendulkar in their next game against Sunrisers Hyderabad

Former Indian cricketer Aakash Chopra has expressed his opinion that Mumbai Indians’ pacer Arjun Tendulkar might not make it to the playing XI in their upcoming match against Sunrisers Hyderabad in the Indian Premier League (IPL) 2023. The match is scheduled to take place at the Rajiv Gandhi International Stadium in Hyderabad on Tuesday, April 18.

Aakash’s Youtube Analysis

Arjun Tendulkar, the son of Indian batting legend Sachin Tendulkar, made his IPL debut in the previous match against the Kolkata Knight Riders, where he bowled two overs and conceded 17 runs. While he did not take any wickets, he showed glimpses of his potential with his pace and accuracy.

In a video shared on his YouTube channel, Aakash Chopra previewed the upcoming match between Mumbai Indians and Sunrisers Hyderabad in the Indian Premier League (IPL) 2023. During the preview, Chopra expressed his opinion that pacer Arjun Tendulkar and bowling all-rounder Duan Jansen are unlikely to feature in Mumbai Indians’ playing XI for the match.

“I feel there will be a few changes in bowling here. You will not see Duan Jansen. You will see either Jason Behrendorff or Jofra Archer if he is available. Riley Meredith will be there in any case. I feel you might not see Arjun Tendulkar playing here, there is a strong possibility.”, Chopra said in his YouTube video.

Changes in spin department as well

Chopra’s analysis was based on the fact that the Rajiv Gandhi International Stadium in Hyderabad has historically favored spinners, and Mumbai Indians might opt for an additional spinner in their playing XI in the form of Shams Mulani or Kumar Kartikeya.

“There will be some changes in spin bowling as well. Either Kumar Kartikeya or Shams Mulani can play this match because Hyderabad have so many right-handers. You would want to bowl a lot of spin that is taking the ball away. So Piyush Chawla or Kumar Kartikeya in front of Harry Brook and a lot of spin in the powerplay overs itself.”, Chopra further added.
