Aakash Chopra suggests one change in the batting order of the Kolkata Knight Riders

Indian cricket turned commentator Aakash Chopra has suggested some changes in the Kolkata Knight Riders Batting lineup. During their IPL 2023 encounter against the Delhi Capitals, Aakash Chopra believes the Kolkata Knight Riders (KKR) should start either Jason Roy or Litton Das in place of Rahmanullah Gurbaz (DC).

On Thursday, April 20, in the evening match at Delhi’s Arun Jaitley Stadium, David Warner and company will square off against Nitish Rana’s team. If they defeat the Capitals, the visiting club, which is now ranked seventh in the IPL 2023 points standings, might move up to the third place.

Aakash Chopra said

Chopra suggested that Gurbaz should be replaced at the top of the order for the Kolkata Knight Riders by Roy or Das in a video previewing the match on his YouTube channel, stating:

“The batting is looking sorted. I am now saying bye-bye to Rahmanullah Gurbaz. Bring in, Jason Roy or Litton Das. Jagadeesan can keep for you in any case. So you can keep either of them as an opener.”

The former Indian opener pointed out that KKR have a formidable batting line-up, elaborating:

“Venkatesh Iyer is batting like a dream, so that dream may continue. Nitish Rana is looking good. One match went bad – the last one, but he plays well and this is his home ground as well. He plays first-class cricket from here only. Then you have Rinku Singh and Andre Russell – the batting is looking good.”

Venkatesh Iyer has scored the most runs for KKR so far in IPL 2023, totaling 234. For the two-time champs, Rinku Singh (174) and Nitish Rana (150) have both batted steadily.

Aakash Chopra feels KKR should stick with Lokie Ferguson along with their spin trios.

“The bowling is also looking okay with the three spinners, provided there isn’t too much dew in Delhi. There is not much need for changes in bowling. I would say you should continue to stick with Lockie and play all three spinners.”
