Inzamam-ul-Haq’s nephew in Pakistan’s ODI squad against Sri Lanka

The Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) has announced the squad for the ODI series against Sri Lanka to be played in UAE. The 15-man squad is pretty much similar to the one that played in the ICC Champions Trophy earlier this year.

The fast bowler Wahab Riaz has been dropped and a new-comer Imam-ul-Haq has been included in the squad in place of the injured Azhar Ali. Imam is the nephew of former Pakistani captain and the current Chief Selector Inzamam-ul-Haq.

Pakistan are currently taking on Sri Lanka in the 2-Test series. Dinesh Chandimal and his men pulled off a stunning victory in the first Test in Abu Dhabi. Sarfaraz Ahmed & Co. failed to chase a paltry target of 136 while batting fourth and fell short by 21.

The veteran Sri Lankan spinner Rangana Herath bowled a magical spell and bagged 6 wickets for 43 runs and scripted a famous win for the country. Overall, he picked up 11 wickets in the match. The skipper Dinesh Chandimal too contributed big time by scoring a magnificent 155 in the first innings.

The 2nd Test between the two sides got underway on Friday in Dubai. It’s a day-night Test which is being played with the pink ball. After the completion of the Test series, the action will shift to the shorter format where 5 ODIs will be played.
